Subsidy
What is it?
Sometimes, production units sell the goods and services less than the factor cost. The difference is borne by the Govt. and this is known as Subsidy.
Govt currently provides subsidy on food, fertilizer, fuel (petrol, diesel, PDS kerosene, Domestic LPG).

River Water Disputes
Water (Use, Control & Distribution) is a state subject (Entry 17).
Some Exceptions -
Art. 262 in Part XII deals with dispute resolution w.r.t an inter-state river. Constitution makes below provisions in this regard.
1. Parliament can provide mechanism to resolve disputes regarding regulate use, distribution or control of any inter-stare river water or valley by enacting a law
2. Parliament can also declare that SC or any other court do not have any jurisdiction on the above subject.
With these provisions, the Parliament has enacted -
1. River Boards Act (1956) -> River Boards
2. Inter-State Water Disputes Act (1956)
Govt. has set up 6 inter-state water dispute tribunal till date.
